Children’s Book Illustration

For this project I was commissioned by Ismi van Niekerk to illustrate her children’s book about a cute little creature that lives in your shoe and likes to go on adventures.
The challenge was to develop the look for a little monster that is cute but not scary.
The process started with character development, then rough storyboard sketches to plan layout. Once this was approved, I did rough colour studies. Final sketches were done next, and the cover was designed at the end.
